MARCO PELLICCIA
My name is Marco Pelliccia and I graduated with my MSc in Economics from University of Siena in 2009. At that time, I already intended to pursue further studies in Economics by entering an Econ Ph.D. programme and a few Professors at the Econ Department advised me to check for programmes outside Italy, particularly in the UK or Spain. Following their advice, I accepted an MSc offer from Queen Mary, University of London in 2009, and in 2010 I started my Ph.D. in Economics at Birkbeck, University of London. Today, I am an Assistant Professor in Economics at Heriot-Watt University, in Edinburgh.
My experience in Siena has been crucial to this path. In particular, staff such as Paolo Pin, Alberto Dalmazzo, Andrea Battinelli, Ennio Bilancini, and Sam Bowles (to name a few) have been inspirational, and they not only steered my academic formation but offered invaluable advice regarding the necessary steps to pursue my goals.
